In the Western Balkans, small and medium sized companies are considered key to employment and the EU has recently recognised this with a 10 million EUR programme to boost youth employment in SME under the ‘EU for Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship’ programme implemented under the Western Balkans Enterprise Development and Innovation Facility.
The consortium has designed a needs-based project to develop sustainable capacities of local stakeholders to foster youth entrepreneurship and employability in the Western Balkans, specifically in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo and Montenegro.
The components essential for sustainable capacity development in the context of the target countries are:
Multistakeholder cross-sectoral cooperation between youth, (youth) CSOs, local authorities and the private business sector including the start-up eco-system for youth entrepreneurship and employability on local level and transnationally
Accessible and effective youth entrepreneurship education that is 1) based on practical
knowledge and entrepreneurial experience, 2) methodological sound, inclusive and adaptable to different young people – especially young NEETs – and essentially entertaining and enjoyable, and 3) able to trigger an entrepreneurial minds-set and motivation for an entrepreneurial career path in young people
We are excited to offer our students a comprehensive handbook that compiles all of the valuable information they need from our courses. This handbook serves as a useful resource for students who want to review key concepts, reinforce their learning, or refresh their knowledge. Best of all, it’s completely free to download and use. We hope this handbook will continue to support our students’ success long after they have completed our courses.
